Sorry, I don't really understand that. Are you saying that getting listed in google.co.uk is easier because it is a .co.uk site? If so how would somone get on listed on Google.com?

The site you are talking about must be ending in .co.uk and/or hosted on a server in UK and/or geolocation has been set as UK that is why in google.co.uk it is ranking better than google.com.

To get similar ranking in google.com you will have to work harder towards generating more quality backlinks for that site.

Right, a good rank on Google.co.uk might be easier than on Google.com but this is not a domain name issue, IMO. With enough backlinks and well-done on-page SEO, any keywords would rank well on Google.com.

It totally depends on your site. Their are lots of reasons.

If it's aimed at the UK market then google may know this and that is why your ranked high on google.co.uk. eg if it's a listing of what's on in local cinemas in the UK then their'd be no need to have a high rank on google.com or other countries

Your server could also be hosted in the UK like mentioned above but this doen't affect it really.

If a lot of the sites linking to your site are all from the UK then this will make your site rank high in google.co.uk

If your site end's in .co.uk then it will obvioulsy rank high in google.co.uk rather than google.com

You may have targeted the UK in your google webmasters tools. Check to make sure it's set to global and not set to a specific country.

if it we look at from Google side, yes UK's web sites which located in UK has advantages when we look at from general just domain side, co.uk or us or com.tr or de these are logos of countires and really important. .com is global ok yet i dont general website for just .com. when i see any nationality domain who like it and support him/her wtih clicking ads.
