Today we're going to tell you about our experience of working with push traffic. Unfortunately, we were a little late for the main wave of hype around push. This market is overheated but there is still an opportunity to earn money.
This time we worked with a gambling campaign. We didn't have a lot of experience with gambling, but this vertical is definitely worth trying.
As for casino, there are three payment models:
- FTD – is a payment for the first time deposit. You can get your payment after you bring users, they sign up and make deposits. Working with this payment model you'll get three digit payments.
- Revshare – you get a fixed percent of every deposit made by users you brought.
- CPL “cost per lead” you get paid when users sign up. This is the easiest flow to monetize but payments are not so high.
In order to understand how to work with FTD campaigns you'll have to spend A LOT of money. To get your first $100 profit you need to spend $500-1000 to get an idea of what's going on here. Most likely, you'll need to develop your own website with a nice amount of visitors to be able to work with FTD offers successfully.
We chose the offer [WAP+WEB] Wizard / SE with $8 payout. About a year ago we have already tried to work with this offer but on DE. That time we hardly spent any time on optimization so we got neutral results and then just stopped working on it. There were more interesting options of work at that moment. Anyway, its conversion flow is really simple (it's just a SOI signup) and payout is high enough to cover the expenses quickly.
Usually affiliates get attracted to push traffic thanks to its nice performance with Tier 2 and Tier 3 countries, moreover traffic is pretty cheap for them. And affiliates usually don't work with Tier 1 traffic because higher prices make it harder to earn anything from push traffic, so if conversion number is low, they will just lose their money.
But there is also a chance to get better quality traffic even if it costs a lot.
We bought our traffic from DatsPush. We have already tested their traffic. They have lower volumes than MegaPush, for example, but quality of their traffic is satisfying in comparison with other traffic sources presented on the market today.
We found creatives using Adplexity and SpyOver. AdPlexity is a really good tool for affiliates. As for SpyOver, these guys are «younger» but they still offer a useful functionality.

We tried different creatives. It was hard to imagine that the first one could show any good results, but surprisingly it worked really well for some reason:
These creatives performed well at first too, but their performance faded with time:
We used the following rules in order to get rid of unwanted traffic:
- We sent traffic that cost like offer's payout x2 and got no conversions = ban
- We sent traffic that cost like offer's payout x4, and got negative ROI = ban
We actually didn't blacklist sources every day, because in that case we could have lost sources that brought us leads. The fact is traffic performs differently on different days, so we didn't get carried away with blacklisting everything. We ended up sending traffic in a passive manner at the end.
We didn't get crazy profits or incredible performance, but we didn't invest too much time into it either. So we're actually happy with the results.
