Hi,
There was a great article on websitemagazine August 2011 issue about how to make your online store more accessible to consumers. It was mentioned that more and more consumers are leaving the traditional shops to online shops, and it is suggested in the article that consumers are embracing online venues as a way to escape higher prices, poor selection, and dwindling sales staffs associated with traditional in-store shopping venues.

The article gives couple of tips to help humanize our website and keep visitors coming back as the competition on the Web is getting more intense:

1- See your site through the eyes of your visitors:
It is suggested in the article to use co-browsing software to enable site visitors to enlist our guidance during their visit, similar to interacting with sales associate at a brick-and-motar stores. It is also suggested their to purchase a CRM system, if we don't own one, and find new ways to maximize our investment.
2- Analyze Results:
As we all know, one of the greatest strengths of doing business online is the availability of products that provide data about our website which can be leveraged to improve the overall user experience and positively impact sales and brand loyalty. The article mention Google Analytics as an important tool but also other tools like our mind and imagination.

Overall - I think it's important issue we should take our time and see what we can do to improve the consumer experience.

Just wanted to share :)

Have a great day!
