Blogger and other free blogs

Has anyone had any luck using free blog sites like blogger to get started? I am on a really, REALLY tight budget and was wondering if I could use blogger to get started and figure things out and make some extra cash to get started. I mention blogger because I know they allow ads and wordpress doesn't.

Sure you can use Blogger to get started if things are that tight. It's not ideal because all the work you will be doing to build links and drive traffic will be going to Blogger instead of building up traffic for your own web property. But many affiliates use Blogger so it's an option.

I think Blogger is probably the way to go as far as free options.

Thanks, yes, after creating a couple blogs on wordpress I realized they do not allow ads, have since switched to blogger.
