so Mixpanel offers a advanced event tracking system for websites & apps. Has anybody ever used them?
Im curious how "deep" the metrics are...

Mixpanel is an excellent tool for all level of user competency that makes it a tool for many, and not just one person.

+1 on that, I have been using them for a week already, love the metrics..
