If some mainstream publications were not such greedy pigs they would have more subscribers at fairer prices. How much do you think an Internet news or daily updated publications earn net off of advertising per viewer? A penny or less probably ...
Lets face it; the access cost in digital media bandwidth & hardware are relatively small as compared to IRL (in real life) print delivery -- no paper nor delivery postage or carrier costs, etc.
