    Is forum signature DOfollow

    I didn't realize that signatures were marked with <!-- sig -->. It would make sense for search engines to ignore them if they had an easy way. They get indexed but they may not give them full weight.

    Makes sense. Are you saying that manual reports may be ignored if a site scores well on filter algos. Maybe they would ignore some types but others (like selling blog posts) may still need manual reviews.

    I have had sales people sign them but they are almost impossible to enforce without taking a big hit to your reputation and your wallet. It is not the full algo as such but bits and pieces and knowing how the organization functions. I can see a large SEO company doing better with a person...

    I have heard of numerous cases where Google seems to be giving gift PR to new sites with no links. Many people are loosing faith in the little green bar.

    Thanks for the info. I guess to ensure Google doesn't miss it the perpetrator fills out a Google Spam report on the site. I have heard that a report can trigger a manual review.

    PhpLd or eSyndicat

    Since you already know a bit about PHPLD I would suggest using it again. The scripts get easier and easier to use as you get to know them. It is harder to become an expert at more than one.

    I believe that a constant promotion (every day or every week) would be better than a large promotion every couple of months.

    Web directories and Bid Directories

    I am not a fan of having 2 directories on the same domain, especially if customers don't know that the other directory exists.
