Simple steps for image optimization

Here i am sharing some useful tips for image optimization.

Use keywords in the image file names.
Include keywords in the image alt tag.
Optimize the pages containing images.
Keep the image near supporting keywords rich content.
Limit the number of images per pages.
Use photo sharing sites. Apply captions and tags.

great advise. Lots of people underestimate howmany extra visitors your site can receive via google image search. If you use these steps you can be sure to attract some extra vistors, both trough image search, as well trough the normal serps becourse you have your on page seo optimized

Good tip. Also -- large images do better than smaller images in search engines. Using alt text, titles, etc on small images isn't worthwhile, imo. Opinions?

do you mean using a site like flickr for uploading your own personal photos, and importing them to your blog from flickr instead of importing them from your hard drive?

If that's not what you mean, could you restate and explain your suggestion?

If that IS what you mean, what other (better?) sites than flickr?
