Twitter has been great for me, but it's been a much different thing then I expected when I got started about a year ago.

-I haven't found a single customer for one of my wine clubs on Twitter

-It's been an outstanding way to introduce myself and my company to wineries (ie suppliers)

-It's been a great way to fill our in person events and to help with SEO by making friends with bloggers within our niche

I believe there are some niches who can only benefits on this. On the other hand, as mark ses, it is a great way to start your branding.
