Just joined today

Hi All
I have jsut joined today, hoping that when I need some help I will be in the right place.
I have built my first webshop my business is called jo seban fine handmade Soap.
As it grows, I am hoping to make this a good source of income but I do find all the ranking and marketing stuff a bit overwhelming at the moment.
I have been thinking of starting a directory as a source of income, is this a good move?
Any thoughts or comments about my webshop will be welcomed as improvements are a good thing.

I don't think start directory is a good idea. Some say that Big G will punish paid directory.
