Insight into the future of affiliate marketing

Hi. I am looking to put the affiliate marketing in perspective.

Does anyone have some hard stats on the growth of this opportunity and the influx of competition, now and in the future? A very specific resource I could look into would be helpful too.

Please don't tell me to just enter something in Google

Hi lakeside7,

Trust me when I say there really aren't any stats published. We've been trying to get some kind of industry numbers for fighting all the various tax laws and there just aren't any. The industry is highly fractured so it would be hard to pull numbers together I think.

The only guestimate I know of was in 06 and I blogged about it below.

I am wondering too how many websites are created everyday, how many new people are getting on the web every year, how many new products are being put online, etc.

I suppose I can look at newspaper archives and new articles as well. Especially maybe the Wall Street Journal, maybe.
