How often should you create backlinks using social networks?

So how often should you? I'm slightly apprehensive about spamming networks and google penalising for it! any adive would be appreciated xxx

on social networks, my oppinion is that you can create backlinks everyday as often you desire. that's what they are for

You shouldn't really be penalised for this as this is exactly what social media is for (unless, of course, you go to the extreme and post the same thing 100 times a day). However, it's often the case that the more you post, the effectiveness diminishes.
