How do you optimize for the best resolution?

I downloaded a little tool suggested here on the board, called "Size-O-Matic", but I cannot get it to work correctly.

In actuality, I don't understand a ton about resolution period.

I don't know how to optimize resolution on a website.

For instance, 48 percent of my website visitors, use 728 X 24 X 32 if I remember correctly.

But, how do I even know what my site resolution is set to?

Any good tips in this area?
