Social Media in most cases is 'creative' advertising as opposed to SEM that is targeted 'directive' advertising.
'Creative' means inspiring a need without any previous intent of the buyer.
Today, regardless of the advice of the so called expert SEO *Gurus*: Unless, you are a brand or the direct seller of goods or services; Affiliate SEO is just living off the scraps. So, it just depends on how big the scrap pile is and if you can offer some exceptional value proposition to the buyers of that brand to attract any volume of qualified traffic.
