  • cut down images that actually slow down the page load
  • a clean HTML without any clutters could actually make things faster
  • PDF's and Flash takes a longer time to load
 
Right, Google has put some weight on the page load time for SERP these days.
I would recommend to use different dimension images for reducing the page load time. I use 100*100px images for my homepage thumbs and 250*250px images for product pages while 500px*500px for larger images. :)

I have also noticed that there is a few algo changes to the pagerank system. I have a few different pagerank checker sites and they have stopped working.
