domain names

Hi,

I am going to set up a website for my niche and was wondering about domain names -

Does the name you choose matter as far as searches go?

For example, if my website is going to be about trendy hair styles, should I choose a domain name with those words? Or does it matter?

It can help a bit to have keywords in the domain name but not as much as many people seem to think. If you can't find a good keyword domain name, go for something catchy that could be used for branding (Google wasn't a keyword before Google made it a keyword).

I personally think it helps a good amount. I have had sites rank in the top of the search engines with very few links just because of the domain name being the exact keywords I was going after.

So I have to say that it matters a good deal.

Thank you for the input - I was really concerned, but I think I'll just choose somnething and get it up and running!
