The upcoming version of the Asustek’s Eee PC 701 will come on May 12 with a price tag of $549 US.
It will have a 8.9 inch LCD display with 1026x600 display, 1GB DDR2 memory, an increased storage capacity, a built-in 1.3 MP webcam and Windows XP or Linux preinstalled.
The differences between the Linux based and Windows based laptops will be that first will come with 4GB SSD, 16GB internal flash module and 20GB of storage space, while the second will come with an internal flash module of 8GB.
The disappointment comes from the processor, the laptop will use the old Celeron M type at 630 MHz / 900 MHz instead of the Atom chip, as it was announced.
