Google: You're Not Indexed Cause Your Links & Server Are Poor

Most SEOs know that links are a very important ranking factor in Google's algorithm. Links can make or break your site, literally.

Google's Matt Cutts responded to a question in the Google Webmaster Help forums explaining just that.

The question was, why is his new domain not yet indexed and ranking in Google.

Matt Cutts of Google explained that Google has the site at a lower "crawl priority" than other sites in their index. Why? There are two reasons Matt explained:

(1) Very few links pointing to the web site.
(2) The web site is hosted on a server that is under "fairly heavy load" and is slow to respond to GoogleBot requests.

Matt's suggestion to the webmaster?

(1) Get more natural links and
(2) Find a new host.
