Why Good Creatives Stop Working in 2–3 Days

A creative works great… then dies.

Usually not because it’s bad.

But because:
— audience saturation
— recognition
— no curiosity left

Especially in push traffic.

We’ve seen creatives burn in under 72 hours.

How often do you refresh?

Yeah, this is real. I refresh every 48-72 hours on push/popup for sweeps and nutra. Faster if I'm burning through volume.

Here's what works:

**High volume campaigns** (10k+ clicks/day): New creatives every 2 days minimum. Sometimes daily if CTR drops 30%+.

**Lower volume** (under 5k/day): Can stretch to 3-4 days, but I watch CTR like a hawk.

**Rotation strategy**: I don't kill creatives completely — I rotate them out for 5-7 days, then bring them back. Sometimes they work again with fresh eyes.

**Pre-build batches**: I create 10-15 variations upfront so I'm not scrambling when something dies. Small tweaks work — different headline, different CTA, flip the image.

The real killer is when you're hitting the same geo repeatedly. US/UK/CA burn faster than Tier 2/3 because audience pools are smaller relative to volume.

What vertical are you running? Some die faster than others.

honestly i think a lot of people underestimate how quickly users adapt to visual patterns now. fatigue isn’t always about seeing the exact same ad repeatedly — sometimes users recognize the “structure” of the angle itself after a while.

especially in push/native, curiosity is fragile. once predictability replaces curiosity, ctr usually collapses fast. feels like creative survival today depends more on emotional variation than just changing colors/headlines.
