DVD players are useless, i almost haven't had anything but problems with them. They usually always freeze up on burned CD/DVDs, not to mention the other annoying limits they got.
You can cheap and easily get/build a PC, and have it play everything without any problems, plus you get a much larger number of features, and a better GUI (depending of your choice of OS).
I'm talking about one of those small server boxes which comes for about the same as a "good" DVD player, which doesn't take up more room then a normal DVD player, plus gives you the ability to burn, record, play games, play all video files in existence (given the codec is installed). And lots of other features.
It would be far better then buying a DVD player, or those so called media centers, because the PC is far superior in features, and compatibility.
