Hello forum member

Recently, Google announced that they are going to prefer https sites rather than http sites in their search results. Google shows one more signal among other 200 signals that Google use to rank website. Google will use https as ranking factor in their search results. But this announcement is incredibly week. Then please suggest me what the difference between https and http is and what is its advantages and disadvantages.
Thanks

HTTPS is used for two things:
- identifying that the site you've opened is the real one and not some copy, created by hackers who want to steal your data (for that you need to buy an SSL certificate from a trusted third party like VeriSign, Comodo, etc)
- encrypting the connection between the visitors and the site. This way no one is supposed to be able to capture the sensitive information like credit card numbers or login credentials the users are submitting to the site while in transit.

In other words HTTPS is completely useless for simpler sites like tv guides, news and everything else that doesn't require user input, and the owners of those sites will have to be spending money for no particular reason other than a better ranking on Google.

http is a protocol used in networking. When you type any web address in your web browser, your browser acts as a client, and the computer having the requested information acts as a server.

https is a combination of two different protocols. It is more secure way to access the web. It is combination of Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTPS) and SSL/TLS protocol.

HTTPS means that it is a secure version of the HTTP protocol that computers use to communicate over the Web. This security comes from the use of SSL, which encrypts the data being transferred from a user’s computer to the website they are accessing.
Advantage of HTTPS is that any sensitive information that need to be transferred for the user to another location can be done securely. Any site that uses HTTPS will display a padlock icon before the URL and it will also usually include the text https:// to show that the page being accessed is secure.
But if HTTPS is being used for a web request it is normally seemingly slower than http, also some older versions of browsers or SSL will refuse to work with HTTPS.

https sites are secured sites. These sites has security certificate that usually paypal demands to receive payment. https has secure layer that http does not have.

HTTP stands for Hyper Text Transfer Protocol. It's the protocol used to allow you to communicate with web sites.

HTTPS stands for Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure. It means that information exchanged between you and a web site is encrypted and cannot be hijacked and More secure website.

Most web addresses begin with "HTTP," which is an acronym for "Hyper Text Transfer Protocol." It's the protocol used to allow you to communicate with web sites.

"HTTPS" stands for "Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure." It means that information exchanged between you and a web site is encrypted and cannot be hijacked by someone who might want to electronically eavesdrop when you type a credit card number, a password, a social security number, or any other person information.

https (hyper text transfer protocol secure) That information exchange information between you and a website it is cannot hijacked by someone.

(HTTP) is a convention utilized within systems administration. When you write any web address in your web program, your program demonstrations as a customer, and the machine having the asked for data goes about as a server. At the point when customer demands for any data from the server, it utilizes HTTP convention to do so. The server reacts again to the customer after the solicitation finishes. The reaction comes as page which you see just in the wake of writing the web address and press "Enter".

(HTTPS) is a consolidation of two separate conventions. It is more secure approach to get to the web. It is consolidation of Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTPS) and SSL/TLS convention. It is more secure approach to sending appeal to server from a customer, additionally the correspondence is absolutely encoded which implies nobody can recognize what you are searching for. This sort of correspondence is utilized for getting to those sites where security is needed. Keeping money sites, installment entryway, messages (Gmail offers HTTPS of course in Chrome program), and corporate division sites are some incredible illustrations where HTTPS conventions are utilized.

According to my knowledge, https:// is the secure protocol. Https is stands for hayper text transfer protocol secure. The big business organizations would like to prefer https than http.

HTTP is stands for Hyper Text Markup Language.

http means hyper text transfer protocol and https meaans hyper text transfer protocol secure https is more secure than http.

The purpose of the email is to encourage you to check for the "HTTPS" before you give financial information. Most web sites are not HTTPS, but when you click a link to make a purchase, many of them will direct you to an HTTPS site.

HTTPS is providing information & also Recieving information towards Internet & it is secured,
HTTP information can be easily exchanged through servers & it is not secure.
