Web design sites/business

There are millions of websites out there that offer web design. With the competition so high, do you think web designers generate any revenue or is it even worth setting up a web design business?

It depends on the coutry. In Romania the sites that get top listings in google have customers. Or the sites where the webmaster know many people with business that are interested in creating or updating a website. We should not forget that there are also many new sites created each day, so I think this domain of webdesign is still developing. Sites need to be updated ( design and code also ) and the web designers and web developers are the people that do that.
