2 dynamically opposing Top 10 affiliate marketing lists just came out and I thought I'd share them in the same post. The 1st is a great reminder of some important industry milestones over the past 10 years. The 2nd is a light-hearted, yet serious look at some strange and annoying things that affiliates must deal with in this business.

Top 10 Affiliate Marketing Moments for this Decade, from the Shareasale blog, is a poignant look at some of the top moments in our industry over the last 10 years. Brian Littleton takes us on a great trip down memory lane, so if you have not read it yet, be sure to check it out!

10 Annoying Things About The Affiliate Marketing Industry. Logan Thompson cracked me up on this one. He shares some of his industry pet peeves and even the funny ones are so true. I need to quote the 1st one, because it's something that I've wondered about too and it drives me nuts! :p

#1 White Guys Talking Like They?re From The Hood
Ok, so this is at the top of my list for a reason. Seriously, go to any conference or forum and you come across these white kids from the suburbs trying to talk like they?re from Compton. I know there are a lot of people who didn?t make it to college, but come on, that doesn?t give you an excuse to talk like a G. What?s worse is when I get an instant message from a so called network owner trying to get me to join their network and I have no clue what they are talking about as it?s all in ebonics or more likely, some made up language that they think makes them sound gangsta. On a side note, if you can?t put a fully functional sentence together I will not even consider looking at your website let alone joining your network.

Very cool articles. Being new to this, it gives a little more insight about some of the issues that can occur.

Thanks!

I think my largest pet peeve in affiliate marketing is not having internet marketing software compatible with my Mac.

Branding software in particular.
