To make sure I do not get sued

I’m from the US, and I plan to buy solo ads and send seven emails (one per day) to each lead.

And I think these are all the rules that apply to me:
  1. Your “From”, “To”, and “Reply To” must be accurate and identify the person who made the message
  2. No false routing information
  3. The subject lines must reflect the content of the message
  4. Identify the message as an ad
  5. Tell recipients where you’re located
  6. Tell recipients how to opt out (create a notice that’s easy to understand using colors)
  7. Honor opt-out requests
  8. Remove whoever opts out within 10 days
  9. No copyright infringement
Are there more rules I must follow?

Also, I cannot afford to pay for an attorney.

  1. Always have a working and not deceptive unsubscribe link
  2. Do not send SPAM mail to persons that have not requested it;
Opt-in is a policy and not a statutory part of the CAN-SPAM Act
When you have a legitimate business interest like an order pending; or,
    a user that has made and 'account' with your business;
email in connection with these purposes is not considered spam.
  3. True sender headers are required (Who, where, real ip)
This appears to me to be correct --THIS IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE

I am no lawyer so please don't consider this as a legal advice.

When it comes to email marketing i only stick to 3 rules:

1) ensure you get people's consent for capturing their email address and be clear about sending then follow up emails

2) don't hide your identity or that of your business (the "from" thing)

3) allow people to unsubscribe from your email newsletter.

I have not heard of people being sued from following the above basic rules with "consent" being the most important one.

Again I am no lawyer - just sharing my own experience.

Please consult with a professional for legal advice pertaining to your own circumstances.

But, how do you get permission to follow-up?

Do you add something like "by clicking submit, you give the creator of this landing page permission to send you follow-up sequences"?

Normally you send a verification email
with a link to verify (double optin)
  1. Web submit --subscribe SOI (single optin)
  2. Email Verify --DOI (double optin)
Email says:
I agree to receive future emails from (email organization name) YES <link Please click here.
You may ubsubscribe for any reason by using the unsubscribe link in our emails.
***************
Have a thank you page and a way to log a record of this. Most mailing programs/scripts will provide this.
*or words to that effect --plain language is better

When they keep sending me emails after unsubscribe I block all mail from that domain and report spam
@Graybeard is right it doesn't help their spam rating

Then that mail server gets a 'spam' reputation --no winners here

Yes, please! I have one guy I subscribed to that I keep unsubscribing (for months now) to but still get his emails. Most annoying, so cleaning those out is a good thing and very welcome to most people who want out.
