Hi everyone, I'm Michael Bloch - Business Development Manager of ThinkHost. It's been great to see 5 Star members signing up for our new partner program!

The program is new (although we've been around since 1999), but on average, our partners are currently achieving $3 per click! That is, for every 100 clicks sent through to ThinkHost from our affiliate partners, 3 people sign up for a hosting account, which equals $300 in commissions payable.

January EPC rate update

Hi all,

Great to see 5Star members continuing to sign up for our program!

For those of you who have been promoting hosting for a while, you'd know it's all well and good for a web host to offer high commissions; but the critical element is how well does the hosting affiliate program convert.

EPC is a very important figure to hosting affiliates - it signifies earnings per hundred clicks.

ThinkHost's EPC rate for January 2007 (to the 13th) so far is a whopping $90! Compare that to the recent performance of other web hosts on *any* of the major affiliate networks - you'll find that this is one of the highest EPC rates around!

That EPC rate has dropped since my first report, mainly due to the methods a few newer affiliates are running our offer (focusing on traffic rather than targeting), but as mentioned - $90 EPC is certainly nothing to be sneezed at - we're beating most of the really big guys!

So if you haven't joined, put up your banners yet, have our promo stashed in a corner somewhere, or are promoting another host; boost your coverage of ThinkHost and reap the rewards!

Maintaining High EPC rates + easier custom landing page links

Hi all,

February has kicked off nicely with $90 - $100 EPC for all days so far! If you haven't joined yet, now's a great time to!

In case you missed the last affiliate update I sent out, there's now an even easier way to create custom landing page links.

Your standard affiliate link looks like this:

where a9da4663 is your own affiliate id. You'll see this link in red when you log in to your affiliate account towards the top of the main page.

If you wanted to send your visitors and subscribers directly to our hosting plan page, you could use this:

or even directly to the order page with a link like this:

https://secure.thinkhost.com/site/hosting-order-form.html?p=a9da4663

You can send people to any page of the ThinkHost.com site in this way!

Just remember to use the ?p= after the page URL you wish to direct people to followed immediately by your affiliate ID and you'll be set!

Good you let people know how to direct link to individual pages.
With some tracking it's not obvious how to do it and with some
tracking you even can't direct link at all like you show in your example.
So that's great info for affiliates to have.

Aside from the huge $100 commission per referral, I just wanted to make mention of commission of $5 for each 2nd tier account referred through our sub-affiliate feature (by the way, we'll also pay more than that on volume)!

This means if you recruit other webmasters, you'll get a minimum $5 for each account they refer. Even clients whom you refer who join our program and then go on to refer others will land you the $5 bounty per account.

There's a few tools we offer to help you recruit sub affiliates.

a) Great looking banners and buttons available in your account interface. All banners and links will record sub-affiliate referrals, but we also have some special banners made up for recruitment that are working really well.

b) Use a direct special link that leads directly to the sign up form, also available from your affiliate interface in the left hand menu.

c) Embed our signup form on your site using a small snippet of code. Remember to replace AFFID with your own affiliate id code:

Quite a few partners suggested they'd like to see more text based marketing materials - short blurbs, articles and full page promos. I'm pleased to say the first batch is now available! You don't have to use all the text and you can add to the articles - slice and dice as you see fit - within reason of course.. and these can only be used in conjunction with promoting ThinkHost .

When you log into your affiliate partner interface, you'll see a new section in the left hand menu called Resources. Clicking on that will take you to the articles & blurbs section.

Wow that's the best commission I've seen for a webhosting company so far, the companies I currently promote (which will remain nameless) pay $65 per sale and only for a pre-paid year/2 year plan. I'll have to give it a try, I'm currently not doing too much with promoting webhosts but this could change pretty quickly.

Edit: I am also a huge supporter of renewable energy sources, I consider myself to be a well informed environmentalist that has done extensive research in a few fields such as deep ecology, ecofeminism, social ecology, ecosophy T, etc.
