The power of Internet Ads?

I have a question for you all,
I've been working with a company that provides internet Ads and I have been introduced to a whole new understanding of the internet that i've never even thought about before.

But when I have to look at things like "Make money EASY AND QUIT YOUR JOB" or "HOW TO BECOME INCREDIBLY RICH IN ONLY 5 MINUTES"

All I can do is roll my eyes. Do you think that internet ads really work? Are people actually clicking on these things? I know I see 1000's of ads every day that I completely ignore or promptly click the X button to leave.
I get that there are SOME people who click on ads, but it can't be THAT much.

So, how are people making all this money??

yeah, i guess that's a bit of a conflict.
I'm just a lowly member of the bigger company though.
It's an interesting industry.

Internet ads work, but click through is very very low. Personally we tried it, but overall conversion from such ads were less than 1%

I think it is better to spend money in targeted adwords campaign

there will always be people who will "fall" for adverts like these..... dont forget, not everyone will know what is happening when they click on one of those adverts..... its the same reason people fall for email scams because they dont really know what they are doing
