The nofollow tag ? What does it do and why is it used

It is used with the rel=" " attribute in a link. As described in the Google Blog: From now on, when Google sees the attribute (rel="nofollow") on hyperlinks, those links won't get any credit when we rank websites in our search results.

It is a type of back link that increase visitor traffic but not passes link juice to targeted site because SE crawler not follow that kind of back links.

Nofollow provides a way for webmasters to tell search engines Don't follow links on this page or Don't follow this specific link.

Nofollow tag was created as a way to disclose to search engines. No Follow sucks because the search engines can’t make up their mind about when and how it should be used, thus causing confusion among inexperienced webmasters who do STUPID things like No Follow ALL outgoing links from their website to “protect the site from page rank leakage” and other silly ideas.

Hi,

Nofollow is nothing but ur url submiting towards a website taking ur links as a nofollow, nofollow links will be there but it wont approved faster.

nofollow is a value that can be assigned to the attribute of an HTML a element to instruct some search engines that a hyperlink should not influence the link target's ranking in the search engine's index. It is intended to reduce the effectiveness of certain types of internet advertising because their search algorithm depends heavily on the number of links to a website when determining which websites should be listed in what order in their search results for any given term.

Hi Friend nofollow tag is a way publishers can tell search engines not to count some of their links to other pages as “votes” in favor of that content.
