My forum runs on MyBB and also been started up with it. Even though I am also a huge fan of XenForo, I prefer waiting until I get a daily revenue of at least $10 per day of my forum. There are a lot of MyBB forums, that really have become successful and I think it is the best idea to start up with a free forum software and switch to a paid one later.
Starting up with free forum software is the right decision
