Isn't there some kind of free (or trial) tool that I can use to research trends on what would be the best name for my website?

Maybe Twitter #hashtags with a lot of activity then a common phrase. Dare to be different and take Gogole with a grain of salt ...
Whatever the content is of the website will matter (extremely) if the point is a SEO favorable name.

Trends doesn't work like Google SEO it base on what is searched the most on that topic

You must take new domain with emd updates. but it should be general name. you need to branding your business. no short cut in it.
