RSS good or bad for site

Can someone tell me the pros and cons of having a RSS on your site

I did put one on my site I know it brings an ad on feature but why do i want people to click out of my site and go to my competitors site for information?

I think my webmaster did my RSS as an Iframe which give no SEO benefit does it?
