Rank 1 in Google from Page 2

My current rank in google is in page 2. In going up to rank 1, does it make it tougher? what seo techniques will help me most? Thanks!

Getting to the top will depend on the amount of competition for your chosen keywords.

The last few places up the ladder can be the hardest to achieve - its all about the content & inbound links...a quite a bit of work to make it happen.

Build relevant backlinks, as many as you can, and keep your site updated with something fresh every day. All these of course after a well done on-page optimization.

I don't think it is all that difficult to achive first page google. I did it in three days with one of my sites. It had no backlinks at all, just some heavy keywording and a sitemap!!
