Question About Site Architecture

I'm pretty new at affiliate marketing and I could use some help with this question.
Let's say I'm trying to promote 3 different products and I only have 1 domain. Let's say I chose a product for cars, shampoo, computers.

Is it ok to have it like this
mydomain.com/cars/
mydomain.com/shampoo/
mydomain.com/computers/

Is google going to penalize me because they are all different products and not related to each other on one domain? Or is it ok like that? I read somewhere that I should only have products that are related to each other in a domain. I'm not sure if that is what I read but is that true?

Thank you in advance for the help.

Hi fuzzywuzzy,

You can have unrelated content on the same domain. Google won't penalize you all for that.

However to rank well (so visitors can find you and so you can get lots of traffic) and for several other marketing and branding reasons, it would be best for totally unrelated niches to be on different domains.

If you choose to try putting them all on the same domain, then it would be better to use sub domains like cars.mydomain.com.
