Page Speed Scores

On google page speed tool, i notice my website is around the 60s for mobile and 90s for desktop.

For mobile, will this negatively effect my website so that i cant rank for competitive keywords and get my website on page 1?

Due to the way my website was built, there isnt much i can do to improve this, even with speed plugins

Hi!) What platform or CMS is your website built on? (e.g., WordPress with Elementor/Gutenberg, Webflow, Shopify, or pure HTML/CSS?). Also, what specific plugins have you already tried?

If you use WordPress, try to avoid using too many plugins and instead rely on things like custom fonts or custom CSS whenever possible. On desktop, the speed score can usually reach 100, and on mobile it is generally above 80, which does not seem to have much impact.

A mobile score in the 60s will hurt you for competitive keywords. Google uses mobile first indexing. Slow mobile pages rank lower, especially in crowded niches.

That said, speed is just one factor. If your content is much better than competitors, you can still rank. But you are fighting uphill.

The 90s desktop score is fine. Most traffic is mobile now. That is where the problem lives.

A mobile score won't completely block you from page 1, as content relevance and backlinks still carry much more weight. Just make sure your actual loading time isn't frustrating real users, because bounce rate will hurt your rankings way faster than a Google speed score.
