Hello all, I'm affiliate marketing newby, and a recently retired babyboomer. I'm going to do some affiliate stuff, as I figure it all out, NEED HELP, and as a boomer I'm marketing to my age group. I guess that is limiting my market, but alot of us want to do something different, and I guess I'm a test market to see if indeed you can teach an old girl new tricks. It'll be fun and I'm sure frustrating to find out.
Because you are new to affiliate marketing, the best place for you to visit is our Newbie Affiliate Forum. Read as much there as you possibly can. You will learn a lot about what to do and what not to do.
You will learn plenty by reading but you will also have some questions. Our members are knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. Ask questions whenever you have any.
Welcome to 5 Star from one boomer to another. The boomer market is actually a good one but instead of as you mentioned being limiting, it's actually the opposite and is too big and competitive of a market for a newbie. Boomers as a demographic have money to spend and there are lots of them, therefore there are lots of companies and affiliates targeting them.
It's a niche but a BIG niche, so if you can narrow it down or focus on some sub-niche of boomers you may have an easier time getting started.
Check out the sections Larwee pointed out and holler if you have any questions. We?re happy to help.

Attention: "role based name" email prefixes such as support, webmaster, info, contact, forum, service, affiliate, admin, traffic, partners, marketing, etc., for our member accounts are not permitted. They are acceptable for a vendor listing, but not for the member email. This is due to bulk email processors scrubbing them for delivery due to extremely high bounce rates. If we discover you signed up with a role based name we will give you only one message to change it. After 3 days your account will be removed if the email is not changed.
