Not Another Newbie?

Yeah...'fraid so, yet another 'newbie' here. I don't have a web site, I have therefore never even begun to make my mark on the 'web'.
However, the more I delve into the subject the more I am determined to make a stab at it. Actually, I need to make a decent effort, because of some financial problems I have.
Anyway, onto the introduction.

My name is John, 49 yo, married, 3 kids, 2 grandkids.

I have read a few forums but I guess the biggest stumbling block is actually putting things into practice!

So I hope I can pick the brains of you guys who are 'on the web'.

John

Hi John,

Welcome to 5 Star. You've already made a brilliant step by becoming a member of this forum. :)

It's also not so bad that you haven't created a site yet. You can get a lot of information from Linda and many of the other members before you begin getting your hands dirty. At least by educating yourself in advance, you can make fewer mistakes.

What areas of affiliate marketing are you exploring? Are you a PPC enthusiast? A blogger? Are you a web designer or do you plan on outsourcing that to a second party?

Thank you for your welcome.
Maranda, you asked what area of affiliate marketing I am looking at......I don't know enough to make an informed decision. But I would like to have links to merchants eventually.

John, it would be to your benefit if you would spend as much time as you can reading the Newbie Affiliate Forum. Pay special attention to all of those that are "Sticky." Doing this will help you to learn a lot. Many questions that you might have will be answered just by reading what is there and you will have a much better understanding.

After you have done a lot of reading, you will probably still have some questions. You could then ask those questions. Try to ask only one question in a post. Don't ask several questions in a post because people are going to be less likely to answer when you have a bunch of questions in one post.

When you have specific questions make sure that you don't ask them here in the Introduce Yourself Forum which is only for introductions and welcome messages. You will get better results by asking in the appropriate forum plus your questions and the answers may also benefit others who might have the same questions.

Bingo! Never, ever forgetting what it's like to be a newbie in this field is what drives me to help others. I am so supportive of those striking out in this field on their own because it can work and it's a great way to independence. Takes a lot of work, but if you're willing to invest the time, you will reap great rewards.

And, if you want this badly enough, never, ever quit. So many people quit just when they're about to start success. I've seen that happen so many times. It does take time, persistence and constant learning and keeping up with the latest trends, but it's exciting and rewarding when it all starts to pull together and work for you.

So, good luck and stay tuned to this forum for a lot of help and resources!!!
