Hi, I apparently need to introduce myself to the community. My experience has been in the online retail website space. I am expanding my knowledge into affiliate marketing in hopes of creating a somewhat passive income. as I get ready to retire in the next couple of years.

I would look for repeat sale items of monthly subscriptions and take the long-term revshare payouts.
Your hurdle will be customer acquisition, and the always evolving methods of acquisition -- your downside will be customer churn and attrition.
