Migration Software for 4000 Affiliates - any tips?

Hey all! Looking for some recommendations from those who have taken an existing program & migrated their affiliates onto another.

We have 4000 registered affiliates, only ~300 active monthly though. Planning on taking the top 20 performers and create forwarding links for them to not interrupt their commissions or force them to change out everything!

But how do you suggest communicating this upcoming change to everyone? Are there any resources out there that should help me do so successfully & seamlessly? Thanks team

Do the old links go first to your domain and then are recorded (somehow) then Location: 302?

1. are you changing domains
   
2. or changing URI (paths) of the links?

Do you have control of the old domain's server?
