A magnitude-7.2 earthquake hit a sparsely populated region in Tajikistan on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey said, rattling buildings in nearby nations.
There were no immediate reports of damage.
The quake's epicenter was 109 kilometers (68 miles) west of the remote mountainous region of Murghob.
