Is it true that most major crawlers overlook your link.html and links.html documents? I read an article saying they do not give credit to the links found on those pages. Just curious, I have a few pages to change if this is the case.

Eric,
There are lots of rumour about this about SEO forums, maybe its true maybe not but when in doubt just avoid using link.html or any document called link at all.

There is a page called link.html on one of my websites (http://www.velnet.info/links.html) I gave a link to a site called webprosgroup.com from that page, if you look on the back links webprosgroup.com (http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&q=link:http://www.webprosgroup.com/) you will see the link I game him fromvelnet.info page showing.

But one my new websites I do not create a link.html pages anymore, I call then resources , useful_site.html or whatever, anything but links.html or any other obvious give away.

Ok, I totally misunderstood what Eric was asking :(

I'll need to edit my above posts, as I would have to side with Temi on this one, for obvious reasons.
