There is no limit to what you can make online just as in any other business. Just make sure that you keep good records and pay the taxes that you are responsible for paying on that income from the part of the world that you reside. You have to follow the laws of the Country, and even the State you live or are doing business from. If you are in the United States, then some States make you pay taxes on things you buy from the internet as well, so If you are in a business that is producing any kind of income for you, make sure you seek out advice from a tax attorney, or someone qualified to give you that advice.
