I think this is the spot to ask this question, and get some much needed advice. I have tried to ask this question at other places but an not getting any replies:
If you use WP theme to set up a site, but do not want to update regularly, just use the blog pages for store item content and then use posts for written content that will be added randomly and very occassionaly and gradually (and not even have an RSS option for readers), could this affect the SERP success of the site? I am concerned that the ping being on without regular udpates can have negative consequences.
Is it better to turn off the ping and make the site completely static?
And, if yes, how do you turn off the ping, is it just by deleting the ping services in the writing settings?
Thanks!
