The PMA (Performance Marketing Association), Affiliate Advocacy and AbestWeb are doing a really great job of keeping up with all the various proposed advertising tax bills that threaten affiliates in numerous states. In case you missed any of the recent updates I wanted to list them all here.

If you are a resident of any of these states you need find out what you can do to fight these unfair tax bills that could threaten your livelihood. Read the posts below to discover any grassroots efforts in your state that you can become involved in plus see resources at the bottom for how to stay informed.

There is now legislation pending in Mississippi. The bill number is SB2927 If you'd like me to post the details here or in a separate post just let me know.

Important Colorado Affiliates

TODAY IS THE RALLY!

At the link below is complete info about the rally being organized for today at 1PM.

"It?s estimated that 4,200 jobs will be lost if this bill passes. (# of Colorado based Affiliates)

If we show enough support and the bill does not get approved tomorrow, it will die and most likely not reappear for years or ever.

With enough support, we can stop this tomorrow. Please come and show your support.

When and Where: We will be meeting at 1pm (Jan. 27) at the Legislative Service Building, E. 14th Avenue and Sherman St. - across the street (south) from the Capital Building.

Note: Parking may be tight because the Medical Marijuana hearings are taking place at the Capital at the same time."

Colorado Affiliates - Important!

IMPORTANT INFO!

Overstock.com announced they will Terminate Colorado Affiliates.
Use this info to your advantage as it helped to cause the Gov of CA to veto the bill.
Schwarzenegger even mentioned and appealed to Overstock directly in his reasoning prior to the veto.

Colorado Affiliate Tax Update

About 110 CO affiliates showed up to rally and several testified. This committee passed the bill. However there is still more we can do to fight. Read all about it at the PMA site.
