Illinois Court Rules Affiliate Nexus Tax Law Is Unconstitutional

It is about time the governments and the courts start treating affiliate with some deep respect. The economy still exist because we, as affiliates still exist. If people, even people within affiliate marketing really had a grasp of the magnitude of sales that affiliate do drive, they would probably pass out.

I see many others suffering, but affiliate marketers that treat it as a business have not felt the squeeze of the economy because the online marketplace is still growing. This is great news for the future of affiliate marketing.

Finally, some good news for affiliates: On Friday, The Illinois Supreme Court struck down a state law that required online retailers, such as Amazon, to collect sales tax if they have affiliates in the state. This law, which has been called the “Amazon Tax” or “Mainstreet Fairness Bill” redefined the state’s definition relationships between out-of-state retailers and in-state performance marketing affiliates.
