How soon should you start emailing your list?

I have a small but growing list and outside of sending a thanks for subscribing email, when can I start sending my auto-sequence? I'm cautious since I was told to wait until I have at least 2,000 subscribers - to avoid a high spam ratio which could cause my account to be shut down.

You should have started when you got your first subscriber.

How long have you been waiting? If users forget they signed up to your list, they could mark it as spam. Not that it will happen, but the possibility exists by waiting.
