A page may have many headings but, place only one h1 tag in every page. Don't place more than one. Use can use other H tags like h2,h3,h4,h5,h6. Google give high preference for h1 tag.

Use headings in natural manner, don't do this for search engine. While creating content, just keep one thing in your mind that you are creating it for your users and not only for Search Engines. So only your title should be in h1 tag, because it is the main heading of your article. And there could be many sub headings in your content, as per your requirement.

Use of heading tag should be not be done to target the focus keywords only. Heading tags must be relevant to page content and should reflect the page content. One can use 2 or 3 heading tags on a page depending upon the content and page length.

Headings are given for better understating the flow of the content. We can have One main heading and many sub headings. Keeping keywords in heading and subheadings is good way of increasing their rank. But if you more repeat it in the same page then it is a black hat techniques, so your site can be penalized or banned by Google Soon.

There are six header tags, ranging from H1 to H6. The most important heading tag is the h1 tag and least important is the h6 tag. In HTML coding the header tags from h1 to h6 form a hierarchy. This means that if you skip any of the tag numbers (ie. jump from 1 to 3) the heading structure will be broken, and this is not ideal for on-page SEO. You can refer the way to optimize the heading tags structure for eCommerce websites
