I have worked little bit on link exchange but has not worked for me to gain more traffic. Now, I'm not working on that.

I do mine by surfing around interesting sites and see if they offer link exchanges. If they do I check out what their requirements are and if my site matches them I send a request.

There are many other ways which can help us to increase traffic, so why are you just want to make a link exchange system. Iam saying this because i had seen that there is not much better results through this.
