Theres a mod out for hl2 so you can play multiplayer, the actual hl2 game, choosing maps from teh game. Its fun to use the engine but the gameplay is wack, you really cant kill anyone but you can spawn enemies and take em down with other ppl. Its ok for now. Hopefully it gets improved, as you cant chat in game, unless oyu have a mic.

Don't worry, that'll change. I think HL has one of the biggest (if not the biggest) modding communities out there so it's only a matter of time. The source code hasn't been available long enough to create anything of substance so far.
