Hi all,

I recently joined AffiliateFix and I’m excited to learn from this community. I’ve been playing around with affiliate marketing, also experimenting with different traffic sources, offers, and funnels and am beginning to really enjoy the process and strategy behind it.

I’m working on a personal side project: a link shortener built with affiliates in mind. Right now it’s in the early stages, but my goal is to include features like:
  • Detailed click analytics (geo, referrer, timing)
  • Custom domains and branded links
  • Link expiry and anti‑abuse protection
  • Optional referral or revenue-sharing model
I’m still testing things out but would really appreciate hearing from the community:
  • What features do you actively use in link tools today?
  • What trust and compliance measures matter most for affiliates?
  • What could motivate you to switch to a new tool?
Thanks in advance for any insight you can share—I look forward to connecting and hopefully contributing back as I learn. Cheers Thumbs Up!

I think you are entering a very crowded market with very little potential for success. Unless you can provide some additional, needed service, you will most likely fail. Why? Because you’re just another nobody new guy.

Maybe consider private labeling a DSP in conjunction with your URL forwarding service?

➠The biggest issue you’ll face is the security gap of redirecting someone’s traffic and logging the details—that gives you access to both the source and likely the traffic’s destination.

sounds like you’re approaching affiliate marketing the right way—testing, learning, and building something useful from within the space. love that you’re thinking about trust and compliance early on.

from what I’ve seen, the top things affiliates look for in link tools are reliability, transparency, and speed. if you’re offering geo + referrer data with clean UX, you’re already ahead of some clunky tools out there. bonus if you integrate easily with trackers like Voluum or RedTrack. on our end, we run a self-serve DSP (CPC/CPM) with push, pop, and direct click traffic—and we often see buyers pass traffic through custom short links for tracking, A/B tests, and cloaking (when needed). so tools like yours can play a huge role in campaign optimization.

are you thinking about adding smart redirects or rotator logic too, or keeping it simple at first?
