Finding Hot Niches - Tons of Free tips and tools

One of the greatest challenges that many affiliates, bloggers and AdSense marketers face is finding and choosing their niche. I often suggest its best to start off with a site or blogs around your hobbies, passions, a topic you know well or even a health condition for problem you have experienced and know something about. But what niche do you go after you've built your 1st sites with the above in mind. What niches do you go after if you just want to find PROFITABLE niches, that aren't over-saturated yet?

Many people make the mistake of starting with one of the toughest niches of all - Internet Marketing. This market is extremely over-saturated and competing against this crowd is like trying to preach to the choir. They've all seen and used every marketing trick in the book. This market also tends to overrun with get rich quick schemes that all promise to be better than the last, but don't really deliver value. And guess what the pros in this market do? They capitalize on all the n00bs, just like you! Other Internet marketers and webmasters can be a tough crowd to sell to - ESPECIALLY if you are a n00b yourself! Don't go there when you are green.

Finding that Rich Niche
<img src="http://static.flickr.com/30/42410043_8ea9abc91f_m.jpg" alt="niche" align="left" hspace="10" />Here is a GREAT suggestion, with step-by step instructions and screenshots that uses free tools in a very interesting way. <strong><a target="_new" href="http://www.seoprotoolz.com/profitable_niches_in_under_10_minutes">finding Profitable niches in under 10 minutes</a></strong> from SEOproToolZ. This is the second post in a series on discovering potentially profitable niches the easy way. They show a VERY COOL trick for finding niches and by evaluating their popularity, competition and keyword cost all in one fell swoop. I can't wait to try this myself on a couple projects.

Here is the 1st post in the series that shows what the author feels are the <strong><a target="_new" href="http://www.seoprotoolz.com/top_six_sources_for_niche_ideas">top six sources for niche ideas</a></strong>.

Another good niche finder or topic juice generator is <strong><a target="_new" href="http://buzz.yahoo.com/overall/">Yahoo Buzz</a></strong>, which shows the most popular Yahoo searches. I also used to check at Yahoo for something I can't find today. There used to be a place you could see the most popular stores or most popular product searches at Yahoo stores. I'll try to find it and add it later in the niche forum thread below.

Ralph Wilson over at Web Marketing today has some great tips and niche finding tools too at: <strong>"<a target="_new" href="http://www.wilsonweb.com/ebooks/niche-finding.htm">Research Guide to Online Niche-Finding: Methodology and Software</a>"</strong>.

Then once you have picked a niche or two, discover untapped keyword phrases in your niche market with <strong><a target="_new" href="http://www.nichebot.com/">NicheBot</a></strong>. This tool will help you in numerous ways and deserves a bookmark at the top of your list.

I have other niche finding tools I think somewhere that I will try to go find.

Another neat trick

Morning,

Excellent suggestions above! I also like perusing the most popular pre-orders at Amazon.com (these are items not yet available, but folks have already reserved them).

http://www.amazon.com/b/104-1396879-7435108?ie=UTF8&node=15372101

You can then get an idea of what's getting buzz. It includes the preorders for:

Top 25 Titles
Arts & Photography

Comics & Graphic Novels
Cooking, Food & Wine
Health, Mind & Body

Romance
Science Fiction & Fantasy

Enjoy,

Marcin from SEOprotoolz just emailed me about a couple new niche finding updates he added to his blog. I REALLY like these too! The 1st one uses some CJ data. The 2nd one is really helpful after you find your niche to determine good sought-after key phrases and potential subject lines for your articles or pages.

From Marcin:

"As you mentioned one of my articles in your blog (on discovering profitable niches in under 10 minutes, using wikipedia and google's keyword tool), I thought you could also be interested in the two follow-up articles that I wrote about this topic.

In the first one, the method is still pretty much automated, but gives the marketer much more control over the final outcome."

"The second method requires more manual work, but can give you excellent insight into what people really want to know."

Some great links

Hey guys

Some great links and a fantastic thread Linda.

It seems that most markets are flooded nowdays doesn't it?

So these kinod of links are invaluable.

I am also a firm believer in the process of selling playing a major part in having a successful online business and that many web marketers undervalue the need to get 'mad skills' in this area

Thanks for sharing all the cool tips you guys found. Any help is always appreciated and I look forward to seeing more in the future.

Decided to make this thread a sticky again as we have so many n00bs asking for the best ways to get started and how to pick a niche.

PLUS I just blogged about this to add to your niche finding arsenal:

Affiliate Classroom Magazine
<a target="_new" href="http://www.affiliateclassroom.com/magazine.php"><img src="http://www.affiliateclassroom.com/magazine/Oct06-c.jpg" alt="niche marketing" align="left" hspace="10" /></a>

Want to know everything you need to about Niche Marketing? Ok, maybe you can?t learn everything in one magazine issue. But what you will find in this issue of the <a target="_new" href="http://www.affiliateclassroom.com/magazine.php">Affiliate Classroom Magazine</a> is primo!

Want to get advice on how to pick a niche? Evelyn Grazini gives you tons of tips. Want to find out how to leverage CPA (Cost Per Action) campaigns for niche websites? Mark Thompson tells you all about it. Want to find out how the latest Web 2.0 and Social Networking gizmos can help you do niche market research? Kati Torok will gear you up.

Hope this helps and best of luck! Enjoy!

To find a hot niche, I recommend people to do the following:

Go on many forums and look at the threads. If there is a lot of recent activity, that is great. Read all the topics to see what people are talking about. Tally these things into a word document on your computer to keep record. Set your mind frame in the state of helping others to solve their problems. Do research and think of what you can do to help others.

Look at all the subject lines in your spam mail. No, don't open them, just read the titles. Keep record of these as well. These could be a great indication of what is hot.

Cruise the web to see what is hot. Just surf because you never know what you'll find.

Look at the news headlines.

i have done these things, and they have worked so well for me. It is better to look around to see how you can meet the demands of others before you waste time and money in a product that will only be a.bom rather than a .com. I hope these suggestions help you. good luck.
