Does WordPress Related Article Plugin help SEO?

We have installed a WordPress plugin named Inline Related Post to show related articles in content. However, I was guided it won’t help in SEO at all. Only "manually" add each related article( anchor text) in content will improve SEO. Is that right? Please guide, thanks!

if your articles are unique and human readable then it will work for sure but if you are fetching articles from other resources then google is quite smart and it will not index your pages.

It is in good quality. So, are you saying that we should give up Plugin and manually add Related Article one by one?

If you use plugins like yoast, its very helpfull.
